Veterinary Practice Owner
Dr. Berg is a 1998 Kansas State graduate. After graduating, he practiced as a mixed animal veterinarian in Payson, Arizona. Dr. Berg moved to Central Oregon in 1999, and then in 2002, became the owner of Sisters Veterinary Clinic. He now practices small animal medicine and surgery exclusively. Dr. Berg has been active in the past with such organizations as the Redmond Humane Society and the Sisters Kiwanis and is a current member of the Oregon Veterinary Medical Association, American Veterinary Medical Association, and the Sisters Chamber of Commerce. When not at work he enjoys spending time with his wife and three children, camping, fishing, hunting, and participating in various sports.
Associate Veterinarian
Dr. Barton joined our team in November of 2018. She earned her Bachelor of Science at Oregon State University in Zoology and her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine at Ross University (St. Kitts, West Indies) and completed her clinical year at Iowa State University.
Dr. Barton is a dog musher both recreationally and competitively. She has 2 Siberian Huskys (Wingman and Larka) and an antique Lab. mix (Sasha.) She also has 2 cats (Siri and Ko.)
The challenge of being the voice for the animals is what Dr. Barton loves about the veterinary field. She also enjoys client communication and helping to educate owners so that they can make informed decisions for their pets. The days are always full of excitement here at the clinic…there is rarely a dull moment and we love having Dr. Barton as an associate at Sisters Vet Clinic.
Associate Veterinarian
Dr. Amsberry was born the 7th of 8 boys, a native Oregonian raised in the midst of the farms of the Willamette Valley of western Oregon. His roots are found here in Sisters Country, as his great grandparents settled just east of town on the Lazy Z Ranch in the early 1900’s. He and his wife, Jenny, have two grown children but the individual actually in charge of their household is Maple, their beloved Goldendoodle. Jenny states that Mike’s hobbies include anything with an -ing on the end….Mountain Biking, Hiking, Camping, Exploring, Skiing, Fly Fishing, and so on… Jenny and Mike love and are very involved in their faith family, St. Edwards Catholic Church here in Sisters.
He attended Franciscan University in Steubenville, Ohio earning a BA in Biology/Chemistry in 1986 and Oregon State College of Veterinary Medicine for his DVM in 1990.
Office Manager
Darcy enjoys all aspects of work here at Sisters Veterinary Clinic. She started working at our clinic in 2000. She chose the animal healthcare field because of her deep love for animals. Her favorite part of working here has been developing lasting relationships with our clients. From assisting the doctor to explaining procedures to clients, she strives to always put the patient’s best interest first. As the office manager, Darcy keeps the day-to-day activity of our office running smoothly.
When not working, Darcy loves team roping and spending time with her 4 horses, 4 cats and Border collie “Silly Milly.”
Receptionist
Christine has lived in Sisters since 1994 and joined our team in 2002. She chose the animal healthcare field because of her lifelong love of animals. She has grown up with chickens, dogs, cats, horses and everything in between. Over the years Christine has enjoyed meeting the many clients and patients the clinic has and the bond between them. When she isn’t working, she enjoys spending time with her husband, two crazy labs and her Friesian horse “Artemis”
Receptionist
Chris was born and raised in Coeur d’Alene, Idaho and has lived and worked in many states including Colorado and most recently, North Carolina. The Pacific Northwest has always been home, so she moved back to the area to live with her family in Sisters, in March of 2020. Dogs are her “happy place” and she was excited to join the front office team at Sisters Veterinary Clinic in October 2022. She has a black Labrador Retriever, Kola, and they have had many Dock Diving and Fast CAT adventures together. She recently got a new dog, Alistair, who is a German Shepherd mix and a very big and sweet boy. She is looking forward to having lots of new adventures with both of her pups.
Certified Veterinary Technician
Angela joined our team in June of 2018 shortly after graduating from COCC’s Veterinary Technician Program. She is a local girl that graduated from Sisters High School in 2013. Hunting, camping, fishing, hiking and reading are some of her favorite hobbies. She lives in Sisters with her 3 dogs.
Veterinary Assistant
Jessica moved to Central Oregon from Washington State in 2013. Over the last 10 years she has lived in Bend, Redmond and Sisters. Having grown up in a small town herself, she found Sisters to be most enjoyable for her lifestyle. Jessica spends most of her free time with her 7-year-old Golden Retriever hiking in the woods, swimming at the local lakes and hammocking wherever possible. She also loves spending time camping and playing games with friends in the area. Having just started in the veterinary field in November 2021, Jessica has found a new love for veterinary medicine and caring for all the furry friends in Sisters.
Veterinary Assistant
Harley was born and raised in Sisters and Graduated from Sisters High School. She has been a Vet Assistant for Sisters Veterinary Clinic since 2016. Angela, our CVT and Harley have been lifelong friends since preschool. Together they bring a great, fun and familiar dynamic to our team. Harley welcomed her first daughter in September of 2020. They enjoy swimming at the river on hot days and being outdoors any chance they get.
Veterinary Assistant
Hailey was born in Sheridan, Wyoming and moved to Bend, Oregon when she was 4. She grew up on a ranch, and has worked with a wide variety of animals. In June of 2023, she graduated from Ridgeview High School in Redmond and is now a freshman at Central Oregon Community College. Hailey joined our team in July of 2023. When not going to school or working, you will most likely find her horseback, as this is her favorite hobby.
